Musical myth-making

LOCAL myths and legends will form the central theme in a forthcoming classical music concert in Urmston.
Female trio Intriplicate will perform the premiere of Didsbury composer David Lloyd-Mostyn’s Cheshire Phantasies at Flixton House later this month.
The concert’s four movements will be lively accounts of stories from the county and promises to be visually as well as aurally entertaining.
Claire Fillhart, 29, who plays the flute in the trio, said: “It is classical music but I think it’s accessible to all audiences.”
Intriplicate formed in 2001 and have since performed concerts and recitals across the country.
They started their own series of concerts at Flixton House, recorded their first CD in 2004 and have been acclaimed by critics. In December they will give their first BBC recital at St George’s Hall in Liverpool.
Cheshire Phantasies will run at Flixton House on Friday, October 26 and Saturday, October 27. The group will be launching their latest CD at the event.
